Mr. Macdonald is an experienced investor, director and advisor with over twenty-five years of experience collaborating with the owners and managers of companies to increase the value of their businesses.  Since 1990, he has served as a director of 21 companies in a range of industries. Mr. Macdonald is a Partner of Kingfish Group, a private equity investment firm with a network of over 50,000 C-level operating executives who help Kingfish identify, evaluate and add value to portfolio companies.  He is also the founding partner of Lightbridge Partners, an investment and advisory firm that assists promising businesses with a flexible combination of capital, advice and relationships.  Prior to establishing Lightbridge, Mr.Macdonald was a founding member and senior partner of The Clipper Group, a $1.5 billion private equity firm that spun out of Credit Suisse First Boston in 1990, and its successor, Monitor Clipper Partners, a $2.0 billion private equity firm affiliated with Monitor Group, a leading global strategy and business consulting firm.  He also served as a Managing Partner of Morgenthaler Private Equity. Mr. Macdonald earned an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar, and a BA in Economics from Yale University. He resides in Dedham, Massachusetts with his wife Lynda and three children.
